Victors 1st birthday
Firstly, thank you SO much for all of the birthday wishes Victor has received. It has been totally overwhelming, and we had such an amazing day celebrating him.
Thankfully my parents are here in Dubai for the week, and they were a massive help in pulling the day off. We invited lots of friends to our house for a barbecue and doughnuts, and it was so lovely to see all the people we care about the most here in Dubai having a good time together. Victor has been quite sick the last week, but thankfully he was ok yesterday and really enjoyed his big day. There is something really special about hosting your first child’s 1st birthday. Here in Dubai it seems people like to make a big deal out of 1st birthdays, even though the kids for sure wont remember any of it. I figured it was the perfect occasion to gather friends and family together and maybe went a bit overboard with the decor. The color scheme is pretty obvious, but to be honest i have no idea what i was thinking! haha. Im so grateful and amazed at the love our friends have for our son – he is one very lucky little boy!
Here are some pictures from the day, but please excuse the grass in our garden – it has been a work in progress for weeks, but the grass doesn’t seem to want to grow fast enough! Typical. I have no words, and our gardener is officially scared of me. My attempt at making a balloon arch also failed massively due to lack of patience and wind in the garden – but the food and company was good! haha
